5 things you should have known about the orgasms benefits!

According to JAMA (the Journal of the American Medical Association), 43% of American women suffer from some form of ‘Female Sexual Dysfunction — often placing the blame on themselves for their inability to reach orgasm. Stop blaming yourself. If you are alone, masturbation will help you find what feels right for you. If you have a partner, talk to them. Often the clitoris is under stimulated during sexual intercourse – which is how many women have an orgasm. If you have orgasms from your cervix being stimulated, tell your partner this. (Or, whatever else does it for you).

Orgasms: Relieve tension! The faster heart beat, the increased blood flow and muscular tautness associated with sexual pleasure all come to a relaxing conclusion with an orgasm, and in the process relieve tensions pent up in your nervous system.

Orgasms: Help you sleep better. While an orgasm is followed in the male by a quick drop in blood pressure and sudden relaxation, the effect on women is more progressive but no less important. Orgasms act as a natural tranquilizer. That wonderful release of endorphins is very calming.

Orgasms: Calm your cravings for junk food and sometimes for cigarettes. Sexual stimulation activates the production of phenetylamine, a kind of natural amphetamine that regulates your appetite. So, before you pig-out, maybe go to your room.

Orgasms: Burn calories.

Orgasms: Can work as natural pain management. If you ever noticed forgetting about a headache or menstrual cramps while masturbating or having sex, it is not simply a psychological phenomenon. Endorphins, (natural compounds close to morphine) are released by your body during sex and can increase your tolerance to pain by as much as 70% during orgasm. This will vary from person to person. AND, if you are in the hospital… forget trying this due to the lack of privacy.

Do women enjoy sex without orgasm?

I usually enjoy sex even without coming, especially since it's so much work to come. If I've recently come, I prefer not coming again, since the stimulation can be uncomfortable. But if I haven't come in a while, I certainly prefer to.

I am used to masturbate since 11. So I have no difficulties to reach orgasm. During my marital sex clit rubbing or my vib are efficient helps to get my release. We are happy with it.

I am a female, mid 40ies, Europe. I masturbate alone and during sex usually. I couldn´t live without self stimulation.

I've known 3 women that didn't orgasm during sex. One women suffered, and felt immense frustration. She'd get close but never orgasm. Another women seemed fine just having sex without orgasm. A third girl really wants to orgasm, but has no clue how to. And feels deficient for not being able to experience orgasm.

I love being together with a partner sexually and I am not anxious about having an orgasm, when it happens, great, and if not fine too. There is so much more to sexual intimacy that I LOVE!!! I can imagine that alone the fact that female orgasm it is a topic contributes to stress and disables women... And the hormones are a factor too. Tell me about it. Some days I am so hot and want to climax, and usually get to, and other days I just don’t want to go there but enjoy the intimacy and sensuality with a beloved partner. I always wonder why everything has to be black or white. Could life offer us rather than an "either or" an "as well as" reality?

Orgasm is not something I receive - my climax - it is something I co create with my partner or myself.

It's best when my boyfriend rubs my clitoris til I come, or until I'm about to come. Then I can enjoy a vaginal orgasm when he penetrates me, and there's no risk of him coming too early.

Intercourse is better for me if my woman has reached an orgasm. I find oral stimulation of her frenulum (where the inner lips meet) and the underside or her clitoris, together with manual penetration of her vagina on the g-spot generally gives her many relatively quick orgasms. Her vagina is then much nicer to be inside as it tightens up and she enjoys further orgasms by my penis.

Really want to enjoy sex with my partner, but I don't. Instead I experience pain, not the enjoyment everyone talks about.

Porn: Men spend two hours, women 15 minutes

Young men enjoy watching pornography on the web for at least two hours a week, while women do so for 15 minutes on an average, say a survey. The study conducted over 1,000 individuals aged 18-24 found, a quarter of young men fear they are watching too much pornography.

One in three young adults, who were light users, admitted it upset their partner or caused relationship problems. That number rose to seven out of ten for those who watched for more than ten hours. And one in four became less interested in sex with a partner after watching porn, the survey for BBC Radio 1 Newsbeat found, The Sun reported.

The survey also showed that one in three light users, who spent less than an hour a week viewing porn, said they had missed a deadline or appointment as a result.

But this figure rose to four out of five among the four percent who were heavy users watching more than ten hours a week - a level described as "problematic and potentially compulsive" by doctors.

During the programme, Heather Wood of the Portman Clinic, said: "Those people spending large amounts of time accessing porn are not having more fun.

"They are more worried about themselves, more worried about what they are looking at, and report more relationship problems."

Hannah Ewens, 19, said on the programme that young men were even expecting their girlfriends to act like porn stars in the bedroom.

She said: "All the guys my age that I know watch it regularly.
"Whenever they talk about sex they're having with actual girls they talk about it in the same way as they do about porn.

"If that's what they're learning, then that's what they're going to be taking into the bedroom. And what guys think a good girlfriend is in bed is like whatever these porn girls are doing."

Female Porn Addiction

There's no surprise reading the 2003 statistics conducted by the Internet Filter Review. In fact, the numbers are projected to be higher considering this is a five year old study. They found that 25% of total search engine requests are porn-related. 12% of all websites have adult only content. However, what's surprising is that women are quickly catching up to men when it comes to obsessing and accessing cyber porn

Due to anonymity and accessibility of Internet sexual content, the computer tends to accelerate a person from being “at risk” to “addicted” at a rapid rate.

Women and Chat Rooms
The ratio of women to men in chat rooms is two to one. The Internet Filter Review found that women are taking their Internet affairs to real life encounters at twice the rate of men. In the University of Florida's study, “Online Dating Virtually Irresistible to Some Married Folks”, states that married people find it very easy to have an affair. It also says that counseling organizations are reporting that chat rooms are the fastest-rising cause of relationship breakdowns and the problem only stands to get worse. Regardless of the woman or the man engaging in an online affair, research shows the spouse feels as betrayed as they would if skin-to-skin adultery had occurred. Women abusing their spouse's trust while trolling in chat rooms is on the rise.

Women and Child Pornography
Women involved in child pornography is a reality. Although the number of women doesn't come near the number of men involved with this crime, they are involved. Family Safe Media reports that in a 2006 study, “teen sex” was a search term used 13,982,729 times in 2006. Out of those who searched “teen sex” 56% were women. In the same study, 18% of women searched for “teen porn” out of 6,130,065 searches.

There have been plenty of news stories about women being arrested in child pornography. In February 2008, the Ontario Provincial Police made the largest coordinated child pornography sweep in Ontario's history. 22 people were arrested including a 28 year old woman charged with making available and possession of child pornography.

A neo-natal nurse at McMaster University Medical Center was charged with child pornography along with her husband, who was the president of the Flamborough Hockey Association in Hamilton, Ontario.

Last year, an Illinois woman pleaded guilty to creating child pornography. She admitted to doping her 6 year old twins with cough syrup so she could take nude photos of them with her boyfriend.

A more shocking case involved Julie Bishop of Grandview, Missouri. She pleaded guilty to child pornography. She possessed more than 600 images of child porn, some of which involved sadistic or violent sexual acts with children. She admitted to distributing some of the porn to others.

Porn Facts (According to Internet Filter Review)
13% of women (20% of men) admit to accessing porn while at work.
70% of women who access porn keep it a secret.
17% of women admit they are addicted to porn.
Every second 28,258 Internet users are viewing porn.
100,000 websites have illegal child pornography.
70% of all Internet porn traffic occurs on workdays 9-5.
Sex and Porn Addiction
Porn and sex addiction for women and men is a growing problem due to the Internet. Those with porn and sex addiction tend to be people who are obsessive compulsive, have manic depression or have a narcissistic personality.

The development of sexual addiction for many starts early in life. Early exposure to porn, witnessing a parent behave in a highly promiscuous or inappropriate manner or early discovery of self-stimulation are factors in sex addiction.

Couples' sex survey results revealed

WHAT do married women in their 30s want? More sex - but they don't think they're going to get it.

So, instead they are hoping for more interesting sex and if they can't get that they'll just go out with their friends.

These are the findings to emerge from a survey on the sex lives of married and de facto couples.

About 85 per cent of women in their 30s said they wanted more sex compared to 75 per cent of men in that age group.

They want a return to their 20s - 60 per cent of women that age said they were having sex at least every second day compared to 31 per cent of women in their 30s.

Melbourne's Brenton Campbell, who met girlfriend Janice Lai six months ago, said he was shocked to hear 30-something women often wanted more sex.

"I would have thought it would have been reversed," said Mr Campbell, 23.

When asked what it would be if they could change one thing about their sex life, more than half of women wished for more interesting sex compared to 15 per cent who said more sex.

Of men in their 30s, 21 per cent said more sex.

Twenty-one per cent of all women said "longer-lasting sex". Only seven per cent of men gave this response.

The other evidence that women have given up on getting more action emerged when asked about what they would prefer to do given the choice between going to the movies, going out with friends, sleeping, eating, drinking or having sex.

Thirty-one per cent of women in their 30s would rather go out with friends. Only 10 per cent of men in that bracket gave that answer.

Thirty-eight per cent of women in their 30s picked sex compared to 68 per cent of men of that age.

Twenty-three per cent picked sleep - double the proportion of men.

The survey found that men are two to three times more likely to initiate sex - except for the over 50s where it is more likely to be a joint decision.

Yet barely half of men remained faithful by the time they reached that age. Forty-four per cent of men over 50 admitted to sex outside marriage or their de facto relationship. Fourteen per cent of men over 50 said they had had multiple affairs.

A third of surveyed men in their 40s said they had strayed, up from 23 per cent among those in their 30s.

35 sex tips for girls (from men)

Seduction tips

Phone sex
Sounds corny, but men are basic beasts. When he's least expecting it, phone him up and breath the sexiest moan down the receiver, saying: 'I was just thinking of you.' Then hang up. Make sure it's your man who answers though!

Stocking thriller
We love nylons and suspenders. If you wear them, go one better than most lovers. Put the knickers on over the suspender belt, instead of under. That way, they can come off, leaving those sexy stockings intact. Being inside our woman, while she's still wearing lingerie blows our mind.

Keep it trim
Shaved bits are a fantastic incentive to get your bloke orally inclined, because there's so much more to kiss, nuzzle and lick, but stubble needs to be avoided at all costs. Think about it, his face will be moving in an upward direction, against the grain, so avoid making him look like he's put his head into a box of feral cats, and keep it smooth!

Stimulate him visually
Play up to his eyes with a slow, seductive striptease, and watch him go weak at the knees. Don't worry about labels or expensive lingerie too much, by all means dress to thrill, but you can just as easily make his heart race by tantalisingly removing your work clothes.

Be uncomplicated
This doesn't mean you have to be easy. Men enjoy a challenge, just so long as they know where they stand. So, if you want him to do something to you, he'll rate you for being up front about it, and eager to oblige.
Matt Wyman

Surprise!
Send him for his shower, and while he's in there start masturbating. When he walks into the room he'll be in for a great surprise.

Surprise him again!
Arrange when he comes in from work that you are in your sexiest undies or whatever he likes. Let him take his coat off then ATTACK HIM!

Handjobs
Get in touch with what makes him tick
If he's not the talkative type, use your hands to find out what works and what doesn't. Have a fiddle around, and see how he responds.

Guide him by the hand
Showing your man what turns you on can be just as arousing for him. If he's missing the mark, give him directions. If he can see the pleasure he's giving you, it will boost his confidence and help him to relax.

Lose your inhibitions
Go wild in his hands, and he'll be sure to rise to the challenge. Even if he's a little shy himself, by taking the lead you'll bring out the best in him.

Power him up
When jerking your chap off, alternating attention between the tip of the penis (which is extremely sensitive) to the base (which can take more punishment) will keep him extremely happy indeed and produce a more powerful orgasm.

Pole position
When you've grabbed his todger in your hand, don't just use an up-and-down motion. For variety, wrap your entire hand around the shaft, and twist up and down like you're following an imaginary red stripe on a barber's pole.

If all else fails...pray
If you're looking for a different handjob technique, the prayer position is very satisfying for him and less strenuous for you. Lube up your palms, bring the hands together around his todge, and make a gentle chopping motion. Not only will it prevent you developing an arm like Popeye's, he gets the satisfaction of seeing you use two hands when one will do.

Mix it up
Women love a blended orgasm - when more than one part is stimulated at the same time - and the same goes for men. Don't think of his penis as a hunk of meat attached to his body; imagine it as a complex bit of kit with many different components, each giving off their own particular sensations. A handjob is all very nice, but when you combine it with a swirl of the tongue round the glans or a caress of the balls (or both) get ready to step back.

Talk to him
Many men are actually worried about whether their cock is long enough, thick enough, and if you find it attractive. If you do, then praise it. Tell him how much you like it, then go back to him with your mouth. You will get his attention, believe me!

Give him options
Ask 'where would you like to come?' when giving a handjob.

Blowjob basics

The right angle
Try a slight swivelling motion with your head during oral. Just a slight turn of the neck is all that's needed. We don't want you breaking your spine.

Tingle bells
Most blokes are blown away by oral, in more ways than one. If you find the taste hard to stomach, gargle some menthol mouthwash before going down. It'll give an explosive tingling sensation to him, while making his privates taste more palatable for you.

Play ball
The scrotum is a wonderful thing; not only does it stop our two veg from rolling down our trouser legs, but it also tightens and constricts when we're aroused, making it extra-sensitive. If you're looking for the happiest of finishes during oral or masturbation, a very gentle pull of the bottom of the scrotum will increase the intensity of his orgasm.

Don't be shy of 69
If you're a 69 novice, start with the woman-on-top position; not only will you avoid the risk of being poked somewhere you'd rather not be, but your partner will have both hands free to give you further stimulation.

Swallow!
Strawberries, pineapple, watermelon and whole foods can improve the taste of your partner's emissions. Beer, red meat, curries and coffee produce the opposite effect.

Start softly
Take him in your mouth when he's still soft. The feeling of stiffening in the woman's mouth is a great turn-on for both partners.

Let him dominate
Sit your man on the side of the bed or in a chair when giving oral, or do it while your man is standing up. It's a great view for the man and the feeling of dominance is very powerful.

Don't rush him
Afterwards, don't immediately stop as if it's suddenly done with and time to clean up. Some men are very sensitive on the head of the penis after ejaculation. He will tell you when it's time to stop so continue on with the oral part of the encounter even after he has reached his orgasm and try not to make any disgusting faces. Show him how much you enjoyed the encounter with a wicked smile.

End it with a kiss
Kiss him after oral sex when you still have his come in your mouth.

Positions and sex tips

Know the difference between praise and appraisal
If he was great in the sack then let him know, but be tactful if he's been lacking. If you can be constructive in your criticism, his ego won't deflate along with his soldier.

Water music
When using a condom, slip a few drops of a water-based lubricant inside the tip before you slip it on the head. It allows us to manoeuvre comfortably inside. Add some of the same lubricant, too, on the outside of the condom to give yourself a smoother ride.

Soft touch
Buy loads of pillows and experiment with heights, shapes, and widths, so you can use them for extra support during sex, to help give the optimum angle for different positions.

Chair man
One of blokes' favourite positions is where the man sits on a chair and the woman on his lap. It's one of the best ways to make deep penetration comfortable for both.

Girls on top
Place your fella on his back, and hoop the leg hole of your sexiest knickers over our old persuader, then go on top. If the underwear's silky, the sensation will be stimulating every time you move up and down.

Play all the positions in the field
If you're bored on your back then suggest something new. Athletic sex appeals to the sportsman inside every guy. Even if they can't keep up, they'll be aroused by your enthusiasm.

Get kinky!

Round the back?
If you're trying out anal for the first time, be sure to remind your bloke that if he wants you to enjoy it and think about trying it again, your sensitive nerve endings are located at the tip of the bumhole, not right at the back, so a couple of inches and no more, for now.

Tie it up
First-time bondage practitioners: if you or your partner are a bit paranoid about being tied down and don't want to spend the entire session fretting about if you've left the oven on or not, simply tie the wrists or ankles but leave the other end untied. You get all the sensation of being bound without the fear of being trapped if you don't like it.

Let him play with your toys
If you want to introduce toys into your sessions but your partner is a bit iffy about it, start with the smallest, least phallic-looking toys in the shop, and let him use them on you, so he doesn't feel left out.

Deep throat
Having the shaft of the penis taken well into the mouth is very stimulating. But taking the penis deep into your mouth may make you gag. Try taking a deep breath just before and as the penis slips deeper into your now open mouth exhale (breath out) through the nose in a controlled manner until you withdraw from the shaft.

Things Your Girlfriend Isn't Telling You in Bed

Every man can get better at sex. It is as simple as that. No matter how good you THINK you are, there is someone out there who can do a better job. So if you want your girlfriends to be thinking about YOU in bed, I suggest you read on!

Things Your Girlfriend Isn't Telling You in Bed

1. Get Some Oral Skills!

Oral sex is NOT something where you just "wing it". Get some REAL oral skills. Take some time to learn. If you REALLY want to please a woman, learn to stack her orgasms. This involves a certain technique which I personally don't know how to do.

All I know is that I dated one guy for three months who knew how to stack orgasms. We had nothing in common and he was only average looking at best.

Your oral skills will really transform how a woman looks at you in the bedroom. You can take my word for it.

2. Make a Little Noise

We feel VERY awkward making a lot of noise when you are being completely silent! If you want us to get a little crazy and scream your name, then you need to make some noise as well!

I am not saying you should be yelling your head off here. All we ask for are some rough sounding grunts. These let us know we are dong something right! It also makes us comfortable to get a little loud ourselves.

If you want your girlfriend to be addicted to you, follow these two rules. You will be happy you did. I promise.

And one last thing...

We LOVE guys who are able to emit an aura of SUPREME confidence. Not to mention one who knows his way around (if you know what I mean).

If you want to become the man which women CRAVE, you need to LEARN. And not by some computer geek who has never been intimate with a woman before! The best way to transform yourself into a God among Men is with a woman's advice. Not to mention one who is DROP DEAD gorgeous.

Fact or Fiction? Size matters...

“Drastically enlarge the penis length and width to sizes previously thought impossible!” reads a website for the Penis Enlargement Patch. (One envisions a lab-coated mad scientist pouring chemicals on his own penis, then shouting ”Eureka!” and phoning the Guinness Book.) Almost anyone with an email account has been deluged by spam for such miracle-growth patches and pills, and the endurance of sex myths may explain the pervasiveness of such ads.

“We equate masculinity and power with penis size,” says Ira Sharlip, MD, clinical professor of urology at the University of California at San Francisco and president of the International Society for Sexual Medicine. “Of course, there’s really no relationship.” Still, Sharlip says, “all” of his patients want to increase their penis size.

The idea that bigger is better is “not just total mythology,” says Seth Prosterman, who has counseled couples since 1984 and notes that some of the women he’s worked with do prefer a bigger penis -- aesthetically or “fit-wise.” But, he adds, “For the vast majority of partners, penis size doesn’t matter.”

So what, exactly, constitutes a big penis? Let’s whip out some data:

The average penis size is between five and six inches. That’s for an erect penis.
The flaccid male organ averages around three and a half inches.

1,000 Women Tell Us: What Works, What Doesn't

We know what you're worried about in bed.
Some men worry they won't last long enough. Some guys are afraid they're not big enough.
Women have plenty of insecurities in bed, too. Their weight, for one thing. And how long it takes them to reach orgasm.
How do we know all of this? We asked!
Last week we ran a poll on MensHealth.com in conjunction with NBC's Today show, and man, people were open and honest. (See all the results here.)
What was the number-one thing we took away from the poll? People are willing to talk. And if we talk, the sex will only get better. (We even asked women about their vibrators. More on that later.)

Nearly every man and woman who took the online poll said they want to know if they're doing something wrong or could do something better.
Specifically: Eighty percent of men say they are "very open" to guidance from their partner, agreeing with the statement, "Whatever she wants, all she has to do is ask." An additional 17 percent say they're open to feedback "as long as she's nice about it."

That's 97 percent of us guys ready and willing to please her. (The other 3 percent either thought sex is better if you don't talk about or were supremely confident they know everything she likes.)
Women were more hesitant about taking suggestions, but only slightly: Fifty-seven percent said they were "very open" to advice, with 35 percent requiring the "as long as he's nice about it" condition.
Evidently, we have lots to talk about.
But let's start with our overall performance. When we asked men to rate their sexual skills on a scale of 1 to 10, 29 percent of men gave themselves a 7, while 40 percent said 8 or higher.
Even so, we may be too harsh on ourselves. When we asked women to rate their guy, 23 percent gave him a solid 8. And 54 percent rated him an 8 or higher.
And fully 16 percent of women described their man's bedroom skills as "awe-inspiring."
So far, so good. But let's move on to insecurities. Do you last long enough in bed?

Sex Secrets of Women Men Love

We're assuming you like sex, most of the time. Maybe you even love it -- some of the time. But there are women who love sex all the time, from the very thought of it to the afterglow. These women have more sex than the rest of us, and they thrill their men to the core. Whether they're feeling hot for their partners or just lukewarm, they'd rather do it than not do it -- they make love, not excuses. If they're tired, sex revives them; if they're stressed, it relaxes them; and if they have a headache, they'll opt for the orgasm cure. Here's how they do it.

1. Sex-loving women love to think about sex
Conventional wisdom (backed by a certain amount of actual scientific research) says that men think about sex more often than women do. Well, not more than sex-loving women do. Rather than censoring their erotic thoughts, these women encourage them. They don't feel guilty about fantasizing, even if their fantasies are a bit kinky or feature some creative casting. And because sex is so often on their minds, it's a lot easier for their bodies to get to "yes."

"To boost my libido, I indulge in erotic thinking: I might see a pile of peaches in the supermarket and let my mind drift to imagine them as glorious bottoms, male and female. When I think about my husband, I sometimes picture parts of him, like his forearm or chest hair; I visualize that part until I feel aroused. But even the most mundane things can have an erotic appeal. Running my hand along a curved wooden banister can be a sensual experience."
--Nicola, 28, married two years

"I write myself notes so I'll remember things, from grocery items to birthdays to checking my stock portfolio. One day after my husband and I had lamented the infrequency of our lovemaking, I wrote 'Sex!' and posted it on the side of my computer monitor. Because that note was there, I thought more about sex than I usually did. I didn't stay late at work that night. We had sex. I left the note up until it fell down. I thought about sex more and more often; we kept having sex. I have replaced the note, and now I've put more notes in my day planner; for example, 'Do it in the pool tonight.'"
--Donna, 30, married five years

2. They can take any mood and give it an erotic charge
Any emotion -- even sadness or anger -- can be the catalyst for passion if you connect with its underlying power in an erotic way. The women we interviewed don't need flowers, candlelight, or bubble baths to get themselves in the mood for love. They take whatever mood they're in and turn it to their sexual advantage. The result: not just better sex, but a more passionate marriage.

"I used to think lovemaking followed tender words and gestures, but that's not necessarily so. One day I was irritated with my husband, and he wasn't that happy with me either. We were standing toe-to-toe arguing about something stupid when I realized that the tension I felt between us wasn't that different from sexual tension. I was breathing a little harder. My cheeks were flushed. Instead of shaking my finger in his face, I ran it down his cheek and under his chin. We both felt the electric charge. He stroked my hair. We ended up making love, and I learned that any mood can be the right mood for sex if you tap into the energy."
--Jennifer, 28, married three years

"For me, the hardest part about being married was learning to share our emotions -- all of them. It's easy to be happy with someone, harder to be sad. After my husband's father died, he withdrew. I reached him through sex, and he began to heal through sex. That was a revelation to me. Now I can find the erotic element in every emotion."
--Melanie, 40, married 12 years

"Breast-feeding made me feel slightly aroused, and I was embarrassed about that. Should erotic feelings be tangled up in the warm rush of mother love? My doctor said it was normal because my breasts were more sensitive to touch. My husband was intrigued. Even before we could have intercourse again, we began cuddling and stroking each other after breast-feedings. When the time came, I was more than ready to make love. Our erotic interludes brought us closer at a time when my intense involvement with the baby might have been a wedge between us."
--Ginny, 30, married seven years
3. They indulge themselves. Self-indulgence is no sin.

If you can't be thrilled by the feel of silk against your body or delight in playing hooky from responsibility on a glorious spring afternoon, how can you really enjoy lovemaking? Women who love sex delight in all their senses. They breathe deeply of the flowers others merely sniff.

"Nothing makes me feel sexier than indulging myself. Whether it's having my legs waxed on my lunch hour or buying a tiny bag of very expensive chocolates to eat on the train home, an indulgence makes me feel pampered, sexy. When I see my husband, I want to ravish him."
--Jana, 29, married two years

"No matter how busy I am, I schedule some time just for me. No husband, kids, friends, work -- just me. I may send the kids to the park for two hours with my husband on Saturday morning so I can stay in bed and read a book, or hire a sitter and go to a foreign-language film. Occasional time-outs restore me. I feel sexy, like a woman who has an interesting life of her own. In my mind, I am coming to him as an intriguing stranger."
--Carolyn, 31, married seven years

4. They're body-conscious in a good way

Sex-loving women are often not the most beautiful women. They probably don't have perfect measurements, either, but they like their bodies. Exercise in some form is generally a priority, not because they want to be thinner, but because they crave the physicality. They know how to use their bodies to excite themselves as well as their partners.

"I did not feel sexually desirable when my pregnancy began showing, but I didn't want to spend the next six months either refusing my husband's advances or acquiescing to his desires like some long-suffering wife. A book about goddesses inspired me: Many of the goddess figures were, frankly, fat, with big bellies. I bought a clay figure shaped like one of them and made an altar to her with candles, an incense holder, and flowers. To put myself in the mood for love, I lit candles and incense and spent a few minutes meditating before my goddess altar. I still use it sometimes."
--Amy, 31, married 10 years

"Exercise makes me feel more alive, definitely sexier. I used to work out in the morning, but I'd lose that sexy afterglow when I showered and rushed to the office. So I changed my gym schedule to after work. Now I don't feel too tired for sex in the evening. My body is tingling and ready to be loved."
--Janet, 35, married 15 years

"I feel sexy in elegant lingerie, like camisoles or full-length silk slips. I wear them often beneath my business suits, not to titillate my husband while I'm dressing (he's usually gone before I've showered), but for me. Last year I bought one of those body-trimming spandex slips with the built-in bra. Wearing it makes me feel a little kinky, very sexually aggressive. I come home ready to stride around the bedroom in that slip and high heels and let him know I'll have my way with him."
--Kim, 32, married six year

8 TIPS FOR BETTER SEX DURING PREGNANCY

1. Think round, think big. Consider what you're getting and not what you're losing. Your new roundness provides more surface area for your lover to see and touch. Any time you feel yourself falling back into your old mindset, call a friend who's been there and ask her to talk you out of it. Stand in front of a mirror and embrace the new version of yourself. Take pride in your "new" body – give it the respect it deserves.

2. Give yourself a sexy look. Just because your body is getting bigger doesn't mean you shouldn't look your best. Treat yourself to a new hairstyle, change your make-up, and buy a new nightgown revealing what's appealing. This is likely to spark your mate and push your sexual image up a notch.

3. Act sexier than you feel. Social scientists have shown that acting can affect feeling. Smiling, for example, causes your brain to release the same chemicals it would if you were actually happy – thereby making you happier. If you act unsexy, you may cause your partner to feel unsexy, making him retreat. If you act sexy, you may soon surprise yourself with feeling sexy!

4. You are attractive to your mate. If you convince yourself that your blossoming belly is no longer attractive to your husband, you are setting yourself up for a sexual slow down. Besides, this probably isn't true. It's the different shape that attracts males. And certainly during pregnancy you will look and act differently than at any other time in your relationship. Research doesn't support your assumption that you are not attractive to your mate; most men find their wives' newly rounded bodies appealing. Your mate is likely to love the fleshy feel and curvy look of your pregnant body. Add to these features the possibility that once you are past the yucky early months of pregnancy you are initiating lovemaking and your mate is likely to feel excited about your sexuality while pregnant.

5. Have a sex talk. Tell your mate about the way pregnancy is affecting your sexuality; and ask your mate to tell you how he feels about your new look. Each partner should explain his or her feelings. Be sure that he does not interpret your disinterest in sex as disinterest in him, for example, or you don't assume his confusion over how to touch you now means he's not interested. By the same token, avoid projecting your sexual uneasiness onto your mate. He will probably find you more attractive than ever.

6. Share your body. Be sure to include your husband in the pregnancy by being proud of – rather than hiding – your body's milestones: your darkened nipples, the first tummy bulge. Focus on what is new and exciting that you will both enjoy only during pregnancy. For example, your new breasts will be "all his" for the rest of the pregnancy – what a turn on, without resorting to silicone! Lie nude together watching and feeling the baby move. Your mate will enjoy side views that he has never before seen. One fun project can be taking "as you grow" photos, month-by-month photos showing, from all angles, your changing pregnant image. Your mate will enjoy his "pin-up wall."

7. Have a fling. Have periodic weekend "dates" before baby arrives; after he or she comes you will have less energy for each other. The best time for ambitious sexual retreats is during the middle months of pregnancy, but make an effort to spend romantic time enjoying each other throughout the pregnancy.

8. Avoid the "sex as a service" feeling. While for most couples a certain amount of "obligatory" sex is usual during pregnancy, don't let your mate feel you are always "servicing" him (or her!), even though sometimes you are.
