It also found that more than a quarter of married women admitted having had an affair, compared with an estimated 18 per cent of husbands.
In the survey of 2,000 women, it was found that those in their 40s are less self-conscious about their bodies and as a result are more confident between the sheets.
Up to 80 per cent said that they are now more adventurous with their partner than during their 20s, with 60 per cent saying they feel more assertive.

If you have ever turned to your husband and said 'not tonight, darling' then fear not - you are definitely not alone.
Most married women would rather go to sleep, read a book or watch a film than have sex, a survey has found.
Sixty-three per cent said they would choose hitting the pillow straight away, putting on the TV or a opening a book over sex.
However, it was not all bad news with 37 per cent saying there was 'nothing else' they would rather do than make love to their husband.
Experts have blamed the lack of enthusiasm in most women on laziness from both partners and an increasing amount of distractions in the modern world.
Relationships therapist Ian Kerner said: 'You may say you're happy with your sex life, but in the end, if night after night you're consistently picking a book, TV, Facebook, digital networking, any distraction that's out there over intimacy with your partner, in the long run, your relationship could become vulnerable to things like infidelity.
'So you have to put sex at the centre of your relationship.'
The survey by American motherhood website iVillage also found that over-familiarity may play a part. Of the 2,000 women surveyed, more than 80 per cent described their sex lives as predictable.
Some 67 per cent said that the position was too repetitive, whilst 56 per cent said the time of day it happened was the same every time.
An alarming 45 per cent could only say at best they were 'somewhat happy' with their sex life and 62 per cent said they fantasise about having sex with somebody who is not their husband.
A third of married couples have not tried anything new in a year or more and just over half will have sex even if they don't want to out of a sense of marital obligation.
Mr Kerner added: 'I think your sex life is sort of like going to the gym. You got to get back into the routine and it's a little hard at the beginning, but once you do it, it's like try it, you'll like it. You'll want to keep going to the gym.'
Liz Zack, editor of pregnancy and parenting at iVillage, said the key was to 'know your spouse. You certainly have to know your spouse.'
But she added: 'Who can't relate to that state, when sometimes you and your partner, your bio rhythms are just a little bit off, and sometimes you would rather finish your book than get to it.'
Mr Kerner said a lot of women fantasise during sex about someone other than who they are having sex with.
'Fantasy is a taboo and in the privacy of your own imagination "everything goes",' he said.

Casual Sex Not Psychologically Damaging to Young Adults

Young adults who engage in casual sex do not appear to be at increased risk for damaging psychological outcomes when compared with their sexually active peers who are in more committed relationships. This finding is counter to speculation that casual sex outside a committed relationship may be emotionally harmful for young people.
Casual sex, which is also referred to by a variety of terms such as chance encounters, anonymous sex, and friends with benefits, can refer to sexual experiences with strangers or an agreement with an individual that stretches over a longer time period. Casual sex is basically an encounter in which sex satisfies a sexual desire or physical attraction and lacks the emotional ties that are associated with committed relationships.
The new University of Minnesota study involved a survey of 1,311 sexually active young adults encompassing 574 males and 737 females with a mean age of 20.5. All the participants, who were from Project EAT (Eating Among Teens), were questioned about their sexual behaviors and emotional well-being.
Among the participants who were sexually active, 55 percent said their last sexual partner was an exclusive dating partner, and 25 percent reported that their most recent partner was a spouse, fiancé or fiancée, or life partner. Only 12 percent said their last sexual encounter involved a close but not exclusive partner, and 8 percent reported that their last partner was a casual acquaintance or a “close but not exclusive partner.” The researchers did not find that casual sexual encounters caused any emotional damage for the young adults surveyed.
A previous study conducted by researchers at Durham University involved 1,743 men and women who were asked about their feelings following a one-night stand. Overall women’s feelings were more negative than men’s. Eighty percent of men reported positive feelings about the experience compared to 54 percent of women. Men reported have greater sexual satisfaction and contentment following the sexual encounter, while the predominant negative feeling reported by women was that they had been “used.” They also found the experience less sexually satisfying and did not seem to view casual sex as a prelude to a long-term relationship.
Concerning the University of Minnesota study, Marla E. Eisenberg, ScD, MPH, of the Medical School, emphasized that their findings did not show an increased risk for harmful psychological outcomes among casual sex participants compared with their peers who were in committed relationships. However, she noted that their survey results “should not minimize the legitimate threats to physical well-being associated with casual sexual relationships and the need for such messages in sexuality education programs and other interventions with young adults.”

Sex survey shows Swiss score 103 times a year

The Swiss have a respectable record when it comes to making love, according to a worldwide sex survey, which included Switzerland for the first time.
Swiss couples have sex 103 times a year, which is about average in comparison with other countries, but no match for the amorous French, who do it 137 times.
The “Global Sex Survey”, released on Tuesday, questioned 350,000 adults in 41 countries about their sexual activities, and gave the Swiss a score of 11, which it described as “outstanding”.
Living up to their reputation, the lustful French topped the list, pushing last year’s winners – the sex-hungry Hungarians – into second place. But frolicking in the boudoirs of Budapest still takes place 131 times a year.
The Japanese scored least of all nations surveyed – the kimonos come off only 46 times a year, although perhaps the Japanese were simply more honest or modest than the rest of the world.
Foreplay
The Swiss really came into their own on the question of foreplay. The average time spent getting into the mood for all countries was 19.7 minutes. But the sedate Swiss showed no inclination to rush things, spending 21.3 minutes engaged in this activity before getting down to business.
The Germans were even more disciplined, spending 22.2 minutes on foreplay. By contrast, the Thais abandoned all restraint after just 11.5 minutes, making them the world’s fastest love-makers.
The pregnant issue of promiscuity also featured in the survey. And here the Chinese lead the world, with the average person claiming to have had 19.3 different sexual partners, compared with a worldwide average of 10.5.
The more faithful Swiss notched up just 9.6 partners, but again honesty or modesty may have been a factor here.
Most sexy
A survey of this nature would hardly have been complete without asking what it is that makes people most attractive sexually.
The usual “tight bottom” on men was the most widely recorded answer – from 15 per cent of respondents worldwide – followed by face and eyes, in the case of the Swiss.
Money, hair colour and age did not feature in the sex equation, although the world’s sexiest people – according to the survey – are certainly well-endowed with the first, and less so with the last.
A night in with Angelina Jolie or Jennifer Lopez is men’s idea of heaven, while Brad Pitt and Johnny Depp would have little trouble being admitted to the bedrooms of most women.
Aids
More than a third of Swiss (36 per cent) admitted to having unprotected sex with partners whose previous sex lives they knew little about, compared with a worldwide average of 35 per cent.
Far less careful were the Swedes and the Danes, 64 per cent of whom said they had had sex with strangers without using a condom.
Some 73 per cent of Swiss said the risk of HIV/Aids was their primary concern when it came to sex, with 19 per cent saying they were worried about unplanned pregnancies.

Survey: Why Do Men Cheat?

We’re interested in men specifically: why do they do it? Is it really a biological need? Is it passive aggression? We’re baffled, so we’ll let the guys answer this one—they should know.
Charles says: Cheating was one of the subjects I covered with over 1,200 women and 400 men in my research for my book, The Problem with Women... Is Men; the results were fascinating. Aside from infidelity being identified as one of the four core flaws in men (as discussed in my book), the sad truth is that being caught seems to be the long-term goal. Allow me to elaborate:
Of the men polled who cheated, 80% openly admitted to cheating, largely for physical or sexual gratification with no emotional tie: the top reasons discussed for cheating are:
•Just want to have sex or sexual variety
•Presented with an opportunity to have sex, without getting immediately caught
•Satisfy sexual curiosity about having sex with a particular person
•The “thrill of the chase”
•The desire to feel important or special (an ego boost)
Women, however, cheat mostly for emotional reasons, which highlights the contrast on how the genders identify the "reasons" for sex. The top reasons for women are:
•Lack of emotional intimacy
•Marital or relationship unhappiness
•Reaffirm her desirability
•To re-experience feelings of romance
•Loneliness
However, in delving further into the men’s reasons, I discovered that most of them men were "unable to get out of their relationships," meaning that they lacked the skills/courage/wherewithal to maturely discuss their unhappiness with their significant other. In short, they acknowledged that they were unhappy looking for a way out... but they couldn't bring themselves to pull the trigger on the relationship. If they cheated and got caught (which most long-term cheaters do), they were able to quickly turn the tables, telling their spouse how it was their fault they cheated because [insert reason here: not enough sex, boredom... blah, blah].

April 18, 2007 - The Sexual Satisfaction is the first in a series of reports, following a global survey by Durex on sexual wellbeing. The 2007 Durex Global Sexual Wellbeing Survey questioned more than 26,000 people in 26 countries about all aspects of their sex lives - including satisfaction levels.
In this first report Durex reveals how satisfied - or dissatisfied - we are as a nation with our sex lives. Durex attempts to pinpoint the drivers of satisfaction, the problems people are experiencing and identified ways in which our sex lives can be enhanced.
By analysing and comparing national and global trends Durex has gathered important information on satisfaction and sexual health.
Overview
South Africans may have the most orgasms and more sex than most people globally but only half of South Africans are fully satisfied with our sex lives.
Two thirds of South Africans said they usually have an orgasm, compared to 48% worldwide. Globally, twice as many men as women regularly have orgasms with people over 65 most likely to reach ultimate satisfaction.
Singapore was ranked 22nd out of 26 areas in terms of sexual satisfaction, ahead of Thailand, Hong Kong, France and Japan.
The study, dubbed the Sexual Wellbeing Global Survey, was compiled over August and September last year. Some 26,032 people were polled, including 1,021 Singaporeans.
Nigeria aced the survey, with 67 per cent of respondents saying they were fully happy with their sex lives. Mexico (63 per cent), India (61 per cent) and Poland (54 per cent) followed.
Nigerians take the longest (24 minutes) while Indians have the quickest sex (13 minutes).
Indians come third with 61 per cent of respondents saying they were fully satisfied with their sex lives, compared to a mere 44 per cent worldwide
Americans are having sex 114 times a year -- well above the global average of 103, and Americans spend slightly longer having sex than most other regions - averaging 20 minutes per session, compared to 18 minutes globally.
Durex found that in the land of Kamasutra, fast love is the way to go, as Indians have sex the quickest, devoting an average of 13 minutes to each session as opposed to the global average of 18 minutes.
Globally just 44% of all respondents claim to be happy with their sex lives. According to the survey, the Japanese are the least satisfied nation (15%).
South Africans have more sex than most. They average 120 times a year - compared to a global figure of 103. Greeks (164 times), Brazilians (145), Poles and Russians (143) have the most sex and the Japanese the least (48 times).
Age-wise it is the 65-plus age group who are most likely to reach ultimate satisfaction
Latin Americans lead the way, with 65% claiming to orgasm regularly
Conducted by Harris Interactive, the participating countries included Australia, Austria, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, Greece, Hong King, India, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, the Netherlands , New Zealand, Nigeria, Poland, Russia, Singapore, South Africa, Spain, Switzerland, Thailand, the United Kingdom and the United States.

In a new issue of nepali magazine “Vow” there is male sex survey. It was interesting to know nepali men from this angle. Some answers from the survey:
48% have had 6-10 one-night stands
40% of the men think about sex couple times a day and 25% think about it all the time (can’t get it – is there nothing else to think about?)
36% have sex 2-3 times a week and 18% - every day
24% say that their sex session lasts more than 60 min (mmm?) and 30% - that 15-30 min (sounds more real)
62% will have sex on a first date “if she is offering it”
25% have insincerely told a woman they love her in order to get sex (how mean it is)
40% wish their girlfriend/wife had no former partners (read – were a virgin)
66% think that size does matter and 46% would not mind to make “it” bigger

Fat women more likely to have had sex

In a study of 7,000 women 92 per cent of those who were overweight had slept with a man.
The figure was only 87 per cent among those of a "normal" size.
The research, carried out by the University of Hawaii School of Medicine, contradicts previous results which suggested that larger women had a lower libido, while thinner ones were more likely to be sexually active.
It was based on the sexual histories of American women aged 15 to 44. A Body Mass Index (BMI) of 25 was chosen as the cut-off point between being normal and overweight.
Factors such as age, race, location, number of partners and frequency of sex were all taken into account.
However, size was the only criterion that affected the likelihood of a woman having slept with a man.
Dr Bliss Kaneshiro, who led the research, published in the journal Obstetrics & Gynaecology, said: "These results were unexpected and we don't really know why this is the case.
"Our analysis demonstrated that overweight women do not differ significantly in some of the measures of sexual behaviour compared to women of normal weight.
"This study indicates that all women deserve diligence in counselling on unintended pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases, regardless of their weight."

Chatters may be apparently scared of STDs but they love sex on phone. A new online survey has revealed that 56 per cent enjoy phone sex. It seems that people -- particularly those living in cities and urban areas love accessing sex over the phone or internet. Additionally Phone sex has been an open alternative to sexual gratification. More and more chatters are searching for free phone sex on the net.

Sex, an emotional topic, is saturated within the world of media. However; with over-saturation, has it affected your sex-life?
A recent survey conducted by Cornell University on high school studens found alarming results with those studied. Over half stated that pornography is how they learn about sex and sexual positions. More than 65 percent of the 500 studied, have had intercourse. What does this mean to the Western Civilization? Have we digressed?

Sexual impotence or erectile dysfunction is a usual problem which involves men. It varies in age and increases in the proportion of affected men, from 7 to 8 %, from 20 to 39 years of age; to 55-60 %, in men older than 70 years; according to a study carried out in the USA. It is estimated that at least 10 million men suffer from chronic impotence in the USA, and that at least 20 million more men have less severe forms of erectile dysfunction associated to age, chronic health problems or psychological problems.
Although it was considered that impotence is caused exclusively by psychic causes, latter researches showed that 85-90% of all cases of erectile dysfunction could be related to organic causes, such as peripheral vascular diseases, diabetes, imbalances in the sexual hormones, the effect of medications, etc. This persuaded the medical science team to dig up varied forms of treatment that proved to be effective to a large number of patients. These include oral tablets, vasoactive drugs, vacuum pumps and implantable penis prostheses.
Among the mentioned treatments, taking oral tablets is the most common due to its easiness of procedure. The first tablet approved in the US was the Sildenafil, assessed for its effect on the ability of men with ED to engage in sexual activity and in many cases specifically on their ability to achieve and maintain an erection sufficient for satisfactory sexual activity. One generic version of sildenafil tablet is Kamagra distributed by the Kamagra UK. Kamagra tablets have the purpose of treating men who suffer from erectile dysfunction. It aims to help many men with ED to attain and maintain erection when they are sexually aroused through relaxing and widening the penis to let more blood to flow. These tablets provide the cure for up to 4 hours at 80% of men.
